Yiga Choeling Tibetan Monastery is also known as the Ghoom Monastery. It is located near Tiger Hill. Located 8 km away from Darjelling, this monastery was constructed in 1850. Ghoom Monastery is an old monastery of the Sakya order and the outer structure was established by Sokpo Sherab Gyatso (a monk) and a Mongolian astrologer. Maithreya Buddha is the primary attraction of this monastery, its height is about 4.57 meter.

It is also famous for its collection of Tibetan translation of famous Sanskrit works, like Nagamandala by Sriharsa, Meghdoot by Kalidasa etc. here you also find several types of Buddhist manuscipts that can hardly be found anywhere else.

Ghoom is also a meeting point of several roads and streets. It is 24km from kurseong via Sonada. There is also a road to Kurseong via Dow Hill. Sukhiapokhri is about 11km on the road to Mirik.

এটি বিখ্যাত সংস্কৃত রচনাগুলির তিব্বতি অনুবাদের সংগ্রহের জন্যও বিখ্যাত, যেমন শ্রীহর্ষের নাগমণ্ডল, কালিদাসের মেঘদূত ইত্যাদি। এখানে আপনি বিভিন্ন ধরনের বৌদ্ধ পাণ্ডুলিপিও খুঁজে পাবেন যা অন্য কোথাও পাওয়া যাবে না।

    Ghoom বেশ কয়েকটি রাস্তা-ঘাটের মিলনস্থল।  এটি সোনাদা হয়ে কার্সিয়ং থেকে 24 কিমি দূরে।  ডাউ হিল হয়ে কার্সিয়ং যাওয়ার রাস্তাও আছে।  সুখিয়াপোখরি মিরিক যাওয়ার পথে প্রায় 11 কিমি দূরে।)
